Hello dear fans,
This monthly newsletter is now a two-monthly newsletter for a few reasons; first it save me time :P, second for the upcomming month neil will in Canada for 2 weeks touring with Chris de Burgh, so there will be not much else happening for that period.
So (unless something special will happen) the next newsletter will be out somewhere in june .
First we look back at April...
South Africa tour
Neil was in South Africa to play for the cause of the Rhino's. He was there for 2 weeks doing about 3 shows (or more even) a day all at different locations. It was a big succes and they raised a lot of money and awareness for this cause. They really liked his music and hopefully he will get a recorddeal over there as well. Our friend Ansie Els who helped organize it all made some fanstastic pictures of Neil during his stay in Africa. The best ones are on the fansite in the photo section. Thanks Ansie!
Album Chasing Butterflies
The new album is out for almost 10 days now and it already got some great reviews. I have put some on the site as well (media-section). If you do see a review of the album or about a gig please let me know...i cannot keep up with everything that is written or published myself, so i do ask for your help for that.
I noticed that on amazon they're already almost out of stock with the album, but they will have more in stock soon. Outside Germany it seems that record and online stores have not much and mostly none of the album in stock so it will take a while to be delivered if you want to order. Thats a pity ofcourse....it would have been nice if it was a bit easier to get. I think this will put some people off who want to buy it. Lets just hope that it doesn't. But the downloads on itunes and amazon are a instant get ofcourse...so thats always an option.
Radio interview
Neil did an radio interview (by phone) for Liver Radio with host Matty C. I was away that evening so couldn't listen or record it myself, but my friend Miranda was keen enough to record it so i could put it on the fansite, for everybody else who missed it like me. Thank you Miranda!
Neil talks in this interview about his new album and his plans and gigs to come. And thank you Matty for mentioning the fansite!
Tourdates
A few of the gigs Neil mentioned in the interview are confirmed and can be found on the calendar. After the Chris de Burgh tour he will going to Germany and Holland the end of may and then its Austria (with the Freemensingers and solo) in june. The booker that arranged all the gigs in Austria, made a great ONLINE PRESSKIT on her website that it well worth having a look at. More dates for austria to come soon...so stay tuned.
Mobile site.
The fansite has a mobile version for a while now...but it was on and off working like it should. Techsupport is aware of this problem and i did some investigation about it amongst fans myself. It now seems that its all working again as you don't use a wifi connection. Hopefully techsupport can fix this over time. So if you want to visit the fansite thru any mobile device use 3G/4G or via regular mobile connection instead of WiFi. I you still have any problems using the mobile site, please let me know so i can pass it on to the techsupport of the fansite.
Neil Taylor Fanclub 5th anniversary.
It just occured to me the fanclub is reaching its 5th year of existance! I don't know the exact date anymore but i know it was in june 2007. We started out with the myspace fansite that still exists by the way ;).
My main goal for starting the fanclub was to promote Neil's own music and get more fans to like him. Well i think we come a long way and so has Neil: He now has 2 solo albums out and starting to have a steady and still growing fanbase.
Now we have the official fansite, a facebookpage, a facebookgroup, the youtubechannel (which is now also Neil's official channel), and Neil's reverbnationpage that was brought back alive.
I think this is cause for a small celebration don't you agree? I leave it up to you all to come up with some ideas or wishes as to how to celebrate it. Do you want another contest? Or have some crazy other ideas...please let me know!
Rock on!
Winny x
